Beaches Police Chiefs Provide Annual Public Safety Update

On July 9, 2025, Beaches Watch hosted the annual Police Panel with our beaches police chiefs to provide updates on public safety in their respective cities.

Jacksonville Beach Police Chief Gene Paul Smith, Neptune Beach Police Chief Michael Key and Atlantic Beach Police Chief Vic Gualillo provided updates on successes and challenges in the past year, crimes statistics and trends, recent large events such as July 4th and Memorial Day, staffing updates, department needs and more.

Beaches Watch meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Community Room of the Beaches Branch Library, 600 3rd St., Neptune Beach (unless otherwise stated). The meetings are open to the public and include a guest speaker and discussion of the current issues for our beaches communities.
