On August 17, 2006, 1000 Friends of Florida presented the 2006 Community Steward award to Beaches Watch. The award was presented in the form of a framed watercolor painting by Dawn McMillan depicting the beauty of our Northeast Florida beaches with insets from the Jax Beach Height referendum petition drive. The painting was commissioned by 1000 Friends of Florida.
