Jacksonville Beach FY 20/21 Budget Workshops Scheduled

The Jacksonville Beach City Council has scheduled budget workshops to review the proposed budget for FY 20/21. The location will be in the Council Chambers and the public is invited to attend to learn about how your tax dollars are being used.

Friday 7/31/20: 2:00 – 4:30pm Budget Showcase / Financial Condition Report

Monday 8/3/20: 4:00 – 6:00pm Executive & Legislative, Finance and Human Resources

Tuesday 8/4/20: 5:00 – 7:00pm Police

Monday 8/10/20: 5:00 – 7:00pm Public Works, Planning & Development, Redevelopment

Tuesday 8/11/20: 5:00 – 7:00pm Beaches Energy, Parks & Recreation

BUDGET HEARINGS

Tuesday, 9/3/20 at 6pm: first hearing to adopt the budget and millage rate

Monday, 9/14/20 at 6pm: second hearing to adopt the budget and millage rate

WHERE DO YOUR TAX DOLLARS GO?

For a median home valued at $236,738 with a $50,000 homestead exemption, the City of Jacksonville Beach will get 20.6% of your property taxes paid which would be $749 for the year, $62.41 per month.

Beaches Watch meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Community Room of the Beaches Branch Library, 600 3rd St., Neptune Beach (unless otherwise stated). The meetings are open to the public and include a guest speaker and discussion of the current issues for our beaches communities.
