2009 Friend of the Beaches Award

Jacksonville Beach, FL (November 13, 2009) – The River Branch Foundation has been chosen by the Board of Directors of Beaches Watch, Inc. as the recipient of the 2009 Friend of the Beaches Award. The award will be presented at the Beaches Watch monthly meeting on December 2nd at 7pm in the Community Room at the Beaches Branch Library, 600 3rd St., Neptune Beach. Beaches Watch Receives Certificate of Merit – February 2010

On February 1, 2010, Beaches Watch was presented a certificate of merit by the Northeast Florida Regional Council.  As a nominee for the 2009 Regional Quality of Life Award, Beaches Watch received the certificate of merit in recognition for the group’s activities that contribute to the livability and quality of life in Northeast Florida.

WaveMasters Presentation to Beaches Watch – 9/5/07

(Sept. 5, 2007) – The WaveMasters Surf Club, through their annual surf event in May, raises money for youth and environmental organizations that serve the beaches area. Beaches Watch Presented 2006 Community Steward Award by 1000 Friends of Florida

On August 17, 2006, 1000 Friends of Florida presented the 2006 Community Steward award to Beaches Watch. The award was presented in the form of a framed watercolor painting by Dawn McMillan depicting the beauty of our Northeast Florida beaches with insets from the Jax Beach Height referendum petition drive. Beaches Watch Receives Bouquet from Folio Weekly – 8/8/06

Beaches Watch Receives Bouquet from Folio Weekly

Folio Weekly – 5/4/04: Bouquets to Jacksonville Beach resident Sandy Golding and Beaches Watch for fighting to keep skyscaper condos in check. Golding, along with the other members of the political group Beaches Watch, has initiated a campaign to put a height limit referendum on teh Jacksonville Beach ballot in November, limiting buildings to 35 feet. The city currently has 22 high-rise developments slated for construction.

Where Do Your Tax Dollars Go?

The interlocal agreement was created in 1982 after the beach cities fought with the City of Jacksonville over the ways taxes and government services were shared.
