Atlantic Beach Town Hall Jan. 21, 2017

The Mayor and Commission will hold a Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, January 21st at the Commission Chambers, 800 Seminole Road from 10 am to Noon. Dune Restoration Efforts After Hurricane Matthew

When Hurricane Matthew hit Northeast Florida, the dunes along Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach protected the coastal communities from serious storm surge damage. However, the dunes sustained significant damage and future storms could now result in flooding without the dune protection. The interlocal agreement was created in 1982 after the beach cities fought with the City of Jacksonville over the ways taxes and government services were shared.
