Join us on Wednesday, November 3rd as we hear from Dr. Gerry Pinto and Jimmy Orth regarding the State of the St. Johns River. Dr. Pinto was a member of the research team who spent 7 years compiling the “State of the River Report for the Lower St. Johns River Basin”. In addition to managing the project, Dr. Pinto gathered and evaluated data, and authored the sections on biological impacts of salinity, fisheries, submerged aquatic vegetation and federally endangered & threatened species (manatees, bald eagles, wood storks, shortnose sturgeon).

Discussion will focus on the recent release of the St. Johns River Report and the health of the lower basin of the St. Johns River. Dr. Pinto will lead that part of the discussion and Director Orth will provide specific policy updates and action plans regarding the work of the Riverkeeper organization to protect the health of the St. Johns River.
