Beaches Watch Monthly Meeting

Town Hall with our State Legislators
Guests: Senator Clay Yarborough and Representative Kiyan Michael
Because the 2024 Legislative Session is scheduled to start on January 9, 2024, our State legislators are currently participating Interim Committee and Subcommittee meetings to prepare for the 2024 Legislative Session. Town Hall topics to be covered by House District 16 Representative Kiyan Michael and District 4 Senator Clay Yarborough are expected to be: expected legislation for 2024 that will impact our beaches communities and our Home Rule powers, legislation they are sponsoring for 2024, as well as information about 2023 legislative issues that are important to the beaches such as vacation rentals, affordable housing and the Live Local Act, and Sovereign Immunity. This meeting will also provide beaches citizens with an opportunity to interface with our State legislators prior to the 2024 Legislative Session.
